Resto VanHarte: The Charity for this year 2021-2022
During the General Assembly (September 2021) we, the Charity Committee, presented 4 beautiful charities to our members. It has been decided from a voting round that Kraket will commit himself this year to the charity Resto van Harte. Resto vanHarte is an organization that is committed to preventing loneliness and connecting people, which everyone can use a little in these times of Covid.
This year we will organise a charity auction as well as another activity for Resto VanHarte.
But because we, from the Charity Committee, were also very enthusiastic about the other charities in the voting round, we decided to put these charities in the spotlight as well. And maybe who knows can we look forward to a great collaboration in the near future.
Resto van Harte:
“One in ten Dutch feels very lonely” Because of a multitude of reasons that causes them to fall out of society. Resto VanHarte brings people together to combat loneliness. That is why they organize and stimulate meaningful get-togethers between neighbours at their dinner tables. In their neighbourhood-restaurants volunteers prepare healthy, tasty and affordable meals. Everyone is welcome at their dinner tables no matter their age, culture or social stature. This is how they work together on a Netherlands where no one is lonely.
In around 50 restaurants spread out over 20 cities they serve, once or twice a week, a 3-course-meal. Usually served inside a local school. The RestoTeam transforms the location into a cosy restaurant within mere hours. Guided by a professional chef, the kitchen staff starts their preparations. Volunteers go grocery shopping around local supermarkets and get the room and tables ready.
At Resto VanHarte they use fresh green. Fish is also an item that shows up regularly on the menu and there are always vegetarian options and halal meat.
“Ympact020” connects enthusiastic youths and social organisations together. They motive youths, organisations, schools and higher education to support Amsterdam. They also make sure organisations can optimally profit from our talented youth volunteers. Apply for an activity at their website or fill in the contact forum if you want more information about our organisation or long-term volunteering!
The “Voedselbank” Amsterdam has as its main objective: Supplying those in need with food they cannot procure for themselves. Weekly they support over 1900 families, consisting of 4200 people, spread out over 12 collection points throughout Amsterdam. they achieve this by collecting food that would otherwise be thrown away.
Je mag er zijn:
“Je mag er zijn” is an independent organisation with its own board and financial administration. Their goal is to help foster children and families. They achieve this by supplying these families with second-hand clothes, toys and other articles a family needs to support foster children.
